GLS WOMEN'S COMMITTEE
Women dedicated to improving safety conditions for all.
The GLS Women's Committee was formed to address the specific concerns of women working at GLS. As the steel industry and GLS are male dominated environments it is not unusal that the needs of women may have been overlooked in the past. Our group meets to discuss and resolve concerns of particular interest to women. Our goal is to improve conditions where possible for all at GLS.

Recent topics of discussion...

The use of port-a-johns and the possibilitiy of replacing same with permanent facilities. We agreed to look into the child care committee findings as laid out in our contract (page 223). Also, the ongoing work needed to complete installation of air conditioning and additional outlets in the women's locker room.
